ASDA has, for the 13th year in a row, reached its targets and, to reward its employees, has handed out bonuses. Any employee who has worked for the company for more than six months will receive £320; for those who have worked at the top performing stores will receive a ‘superbonus’ of £500.
Hayley Tatum, Executive People Director of ASDA, has stated:
‘Our colleagues in our stores and depots across the country are the beating heart of our business. They work extremely hard to deliver the very best to our customers each and every day and truly deserve this reward.’
What’s interesting is that the supermarket has maintained success in a difficult year, supermarkets having suffered in credibility in the wake of the horsemeat scandal. ASDA, however, has managed to raise its game and saw revenue rise, and with keen pricing they have reversed earlier market share falls. (money.aol.co.uk, 28 February 2014)
