Meet Cortana, Windows’ answer to Siri

It comes as little surprise that Microsoft have been showcasing their new virtual assistant as part of their upcoming update for Windows phones.

The assistant, named Cortana after the artificial intelligence character in the Xbox exclusive Halo series, works in a similar way to Apple’s Siri, offering a chatty interface and one that tries to anticipate any info the user might want, much like Google Now currently, which is a staple of all Android devices. (BBC, 02 April 2014)
