Sheffield Forgemasters Ltd (SFIL) is keen to expand into new areas, securing its position as the world’s largest privately owned forgemaster. The company have recently marked the opening of its latest venture in Singapore. The country was considered by SFIL as being an ideal location to support its continuing efforts for expansion and to diversify its manufacturing and engineering contributions to the offshore oil and gas sector.

Under the name Sheffield Forgemasters Singapore Pte Ltd, the company will operate from the International Business Park between the Central Business District and the offshore and marine fabrications in Jurong.

Dr Graham Honeyman, Chief Executive of SFIL has stated:

“Asia-Pacific is the world’s fastest growing region for business and Singapore is considered to be an ideal hub for foreign investments into growing Asian economies . . . Our presence in Singapore, along with our offices in Europe and the US, will enable us to deliver integrated advice, products and services directly to clients across Asia and further afield into Australasia. This will improve our coverage of these increasingly demanding markets, giving us the opportunity to work even closer with our key clients here.” (www.sheffieldforgemasters.com, 2nd April 2014)
